Silwervis Wine
Silwervis is a child of the
“Swartland Revolution”. A
group of winemakers from
Swartland came together in
2010 for a South African wine
revolution: Organic,
biodynamic, spontaneous and
mash fermented, untreated,
unfiltered and unsulphurized
are some of the attributes
that make the wines of the
Swartland Revolution
winemakers appear so special
and different. The Silwervis
adventure began in 2010 with
a concrete egg filled with
Chenin Blanc with the help of
Eben Sadie and Adi
Badenhorst. Meanwhile, the
Young oenologist Ryan
Mostert, trained by South
African organic pioneer Johan
Reynecke, is responsible for
steadily growing production.
But the wines were always
exceptional and extreme. This
is already evident from the
labels, which are from the
pen of Conrad Botes, a
notorious political cartoonist
in South Africa. |
