Description:
This wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were hand-harvested from two Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards. The grapes were destemmed, then sorted and pumped into stainless steel tanks. The grapes were fermented at 24 °C. The juice was pumped over the skins daily to extract colour, tannins and flavour.

The Plaisir de Merle Cabernet Sauvignon has a perfect balance between fruitiness and the tannin weight. It has hints of blueberry, red currant and a graphitic nuance.

The wines produced here are inspired by the harmony of a rich history, the fertile soil and lush vineyards. Our quest in making exceptional wines would have found favour with Huguenot founder, Charles Marais. Charles Marais was one of only a handful of Frenchmen who had experience in winemaking when he arrived at the Cape and his vinous legacy lives on in Plaisir de Merle’s winemaking tradition.
