Caliterra Tributo Cabernet Sauvignon

from £ 7.69
 incl. V.A.T., Shipping may add, £ 10.25/Liter

Color: red
Character: dry, elegant
Winery: Caliterra
Region: Colchagua Valley, Chile
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot
Alcohol: 13.5% vol.
Vintage: 2018
Description:
Of ruby-red colour, the present version of the Caliterra Tributo Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant and subtle.
With a great fruit intensity, its aromas of blackberries, currants and cassis show up swiftly on the nose, giving way to spicy notes of cinnamon, black pepper and tobacco leaves.
Slight hints of caramel, complemented by sour cherries emerge little by little as the wine opens up in the glass.
It feels well balanced and with great volume. Its soft tannins and crisp acidity give shape to an impressive structure on the palate and allows predicting a long ageing potential.

The name Caliterra is taken from 'La Calidad de la Tierra' in other words the quality of the land. Caliterra’s philosophy is to craft environmentally friendly wines under the concepts of precision wine growing and sustainable vineyard management, where each variety stands out for their fruity, fresh and distinctive style, expressing the quality and pureness of Chile’s nature, terroir and fruit. Caliterra was established in 1996 as a partnership between the Robert G. Mondavi family and Viña Errázuriz, who sought to realize their shared dream of producing high quality wines. In 2004, Caliterra went a new direction. The Chadwick family was 100% owner again and this has led to the important decision to produce only wines of their own vineyards, instead of buying grapes from others. They also wanted to increase the quality and to change the appearance of the labels. From that moment, they only produce wines on Reserva levels or above that level, the so-called Tributo line.
