Enate Wine
Enate is one of the big names
when it comes to Spanish wine.
The bodega is located in a
traditional wine region, the
Somontano. Somontano means at
the foot of the mountains, well
protected here at the foot of the
Pyrenees. The name of the
bodega is borrowed from the
small village of Enate, which is
located in Somontano, not far
from Barbastro. Most of their
vineyards are located there. The
wines are produced exclusively
from our own vineyards and the
vineyards are cultivated according
to the principles of organic
viticulture. The bodega team is
young, highly motivated and well
trained.
Enate has set high standards from
the start. The declared aim is to
make wines for the best in the
world. Jesús Artajona, one of the
most prominent winemakers in
Spain, contributes to a large
extent. He studied viticulture in
Bordeaux and then worked as an
oenologist for top wineries such
as the well-known Château
Margaux. His signature and his
credo wines, wines shaped by the
terroir with soft tannins and a
French style. Wines with strength
and vitality, but above all wines
with great elegance.
Art has played a central role for Enate from
the very beginning. The wines are true works
of art, each bottle a reflection of
contemporary art. So Enate asked all the
major living Spanish artists to paint for her.
The result is an art gallery with more than
100 paintings. This includes all the big names
in contemporary Spanish painting, such as
Tapies, Chillida, Saura or Torner. In order to
continue the artistic legacy, the collection will
be completed by young artists, participants in
the Enate EnArte Awards. The motifs for the
labels of the wines are selected from the
paintings in the collection. This idea was
crucial in the construction of the bodega. The
architectural design language is modern and
of classic simplicity. Enate is an all-round
work of art. |
