The historic Constantia Uitsig winery is located in the oldest wine region in South Africa, in Constantia. Uitsig means “the view” in Afrikaans and the name says it all: The winery is located in the heart of the Constantia Valley on the slopes of Table Mountain. After her studies in Geisenheim, the young oenologist Danna de Jongh is responsible for 19 hectares of vines and the vinification of the fine wines from Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. The wine style is influenced by the direct influence of the Atlantic Ocean and the soil of decomposed granite and sandstone. The resulting wines are fresh, minerally with a pleasant fullness and balance.
